PE
Subject lead: Chloe McCormack
Physical Education at Woodfield is designed to inspire all children to develop a love of physical activity and sport. We aim to ensure that our delivery of physical education allows all children to have the skills and mindset to leave primary school with the capabilities to be successful in their sporting challenges and lead active lifestyles at secondary school and beyond. In line with the school's developing excellence plan, we strive to educate both our children and families to develop a greater understanding on how to live healthy lifestyles, make healthy choices and to support their mental wellbeing.
Why do we teach PE? | How do we teach PE? |
Our Physical Education curriculum ensures that we offer a broad and balanced subject across the whole-school with cross-curricular links – meeting the needs of all children. Most importantly, we want to improve the physical, social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing of every child to ensure we are developing a gateway into the world of sport, physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices through to adulthood. | We follow the National Curriculum and Get Set 4 PE. This tailored scheme has comprehensive, curriculum-aligned lesson content; it is progressive across each year group and key stage to develop fundamental skills year on year alongside having lots of fun. All lessons promote each child to challenge their own personal best. |
