Important Update 30th November 2021
Due to the recent Government announcements and following advice from Public Health it has been agreed that we will not be holding any face to face events in school until further notice.
This means that the Christmas Performances will no longer be held for parents and instead the children will perform by video and the recordings sent home. It is therefore imperative that you complete and return the video consent letter no later than tomorrow (1st December 2021) so that we can ensure all consents are in place. The letter is attached again for your ease and paper copies have already been sent home with all children and are also available to collect from main reception.
Below is a list of what has been affected:
- EYFS Performance
- KS1 Performance
- LKS2 Christingle
- UKS2 Performance
- RC Choir performance – they are performing in Feb at The Dome
- Santa dash for parents – this will now be just the children in school
- Christmas Tuck Shop
- Christmas Craft Morning
- Christmas Dinner – still going ahead
- Christmas Chocolate Raffle - still going ahead
- Christmas Parties – still going ahead
- Adult learning – re-commences in January
- There will be no school trips booked until further notice
We have also reverted back to masks being mandatory in school for all staff and visitors in public areas (unless medically exempt) therefore if parents are to remain on playgrounds please can we ask that you wear face masks and socially distance. All staff continue to do twice weekly LFT’s and we would strongly recommend that all parents undertake LFTs twice a week for all children where possible. If children develop symptoms then a PCR must be taken and the child will need to isolate until the results are back.
We have also need made aware by a few parents that there is talk of schools closing on 10th Dec for a three week break. This has not been confirmed to us via the DfE and until we receive official confirmation on this we continue to remain open as normal up to and including Thursday 16thDecember 2021.
Finally we know this is disappointing for parents, pupils and staff. This decision has not been taken lightly and has been made to maintain the safety of pupils and staff. We will continue to ensure that your children receive a magical Christmas in school and are able to enjoy a well earnt Christmas break at home where there is not a need to isolate due to a potential outbreak in school.
