IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE PHASED REOPENING OF SCHOOL
Further to our update on 22nd May and following updated guidance from the Director of Public Health in Doncaster, the Trust has taken the decision that they will not be re-opening schools next week.
Woodfield will continue to be open for children from key worker or vulnerable families. We are optimistic that we will be able to start to welcome more children on 15th June but this will be guided by Public Health advice and may be subject to change.
I know this is frustrating for pupils, families and staff as we are all acutely aware of the wellbeing benefits of children being in school. We are keen to be able to open schools to wider cohorts as soon as is safely possible but it is important that we continue to proceed with caution and follow the Public Health advice in our decision making.
The plan for Woodfield is as follows:
Childcare provision for Key Worker’s will continue as introduced on 1st June, 9am to 3pm however this is moving back into Nurture/Thrive so entry is back via the KS1 car-park gates.
Reception pupils we are hoping will be returning on Monday 15th June 2020 at 9.30am– please see the attached flyers for more information.
Year One pupils we are hoping will be returning on Monday 15th June 2020 at 9.30am – please see the attached flyers for more information.
Phase Leaders have already spoken to all parents in Reception and Year One and are now aware of who intends to return their child to school when we re-open. If circumstances have changed and you either require a place or no longer require a place for your Reception/Year One child please email and let us know by Thursday 11th June 2020 on firstname.lastname@example.org
As yet a date has not been confirmed for Year 6 pupils – Phase leaders will be ringing all Year 6 pupils’ week commencing 15th June to discuss a potential re-start the following week on the 22nd June 2020. Year 6 should continue with home learning until a date has been confirmed.
All other year groups (Nursery, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5) should continue with home learning via the VLE platform on the school website.
Additional information for those parents who have chosen for their children to return to school when we re-open is available on our news page at the bottom of the website.
Finally, it is important that if you are unclear of anything within this information you email school on email@example.com to confirm arrangements before returning to school.
