End of School Year Update

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a lovely summer break.  We wish Year 6 the very best of luck for next year at their new secondary schools and we look forward to seeing all the other children again in September.


 


Don’t forget Years 1 to 6 are back to school on Tuesday 2nd September 2025 gates open at 8.40am with the day commencing at 8.45am.  Please remember, Breakfast Club and After School Clubs do not commence until 8th September 2025. 


Children in Nursery and Reception have been sent information about their transition dates and staggered starts.


 


Children need to be back in full school uniform from September as follows:


·         Navy blue jumper/tank-top/cardigan


·         White shirt/blouse/polo shirt


·         Grey or Black trousers/skirt/pinafore dress


·         Plain white, black or grey socks/tights


·         Black smart shoes (no trainers)


·         Smart waterproof coat


 


With regards to jewellery children may wear one pair of plain stud earrings to school – not hoops or dangly earring – however all earrings must be removed for PE lessons by the child, staff may not remove earrings.  Children may also wear a watch.  NO OTHER JEWELLERY IS PERMITTED.


 


For PE all children from Y1 to Y6 need the following PE kit for September:


·         White or light blue t-shirt


·         Navy blue shorts


·         Black trainers/pumps


·         Navy/black tracksuit for outdoor PE


 


All uniform can be bought from the local supermarket, the pre-loved shop in main reception or if you wish to purchase logo items these can be purchased from Cliffs uniform shop in the city centre.


Please note that any Subject Access Requests and/or Freedom of Information Act requests received while the school is closed for the summer will not be processed until September.


Finally if you have any safeguarding emergencies over the summer break please contact DMBC direct on 01302 737777. 


The school email address ([email protected]) and the school safeguarding mobile (07385 663493) will be monitored periodically but only urgent immediate action emails/calls will be responded to over the summer to allow all our staff to have a well-deserved break too.

Early Years

Children entering our Early Years unit have a range of different experiences and a variety of skills and interests that they bring with them to school. Our Early Years curriculum is effective because it is carefully structured to ensure that quality teaching builds upon what children already know and can do.

We promote learning through play and plan around the needs and interests of children giving them the opportunity to learn about the world around them. We provide opportunities for children to engage in activities that they plan or initiate for themselves alongside carefully planned adult directed learning. For children to have rich and stimulating experiences, the learning environment is well planned and well organised.

We believe that children develop rapidly during the early years-physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially. Our staff ensure that all children feel included, secure and valued.
